Yes, our 250W e-bikes are street legal EPAC pedelecs and comply with European CE regulations for e-bikes of up to 250W of continous power and a 25km/h speed limit.
We also offer a stronger version with 500W (750W peak power) for private land use or countries with higher power limits like Austria, Switzerland and the US.
Your e-bike is assembled by hand in our workshop in Berlin. Each and every machine goes through the multi-stage assembly line and quality check before being carefully packaged with your selected accessories. Orders are prioritized by order time – the later you order the later your machine will arrive.

All UD e-bikes have a warranty of 3 years on frame and fork. On electronics like battery and motor, a 1-year warranty. Wearing parts, like brakes, tires, and others do not have any warranty!
Any modifications on the frame or the electrical components of the bikes lead to cancelation of warranty. This includes the use of a thumb throttle which may affect the lifetime of the battery, motor, and controller since the bicycle is designed to be a pedal assisted e-bike.
UD electric bicycles comes in two power versions of the BAFANG G06 hub motor – 250W (street legal in Europe) and 500W (750W peak) (USA).
The 250W version is a street legal bicycle/pedelec in Europe and doesn't require registration, insurance or license. The 500W (750W peak) version is only street legal in the United States and a handful of other countries due to their different e-bike laws & restrictions compared to European law. This version is not allowed in some European countries (including Germany) on public grounds without s-pedelec registration/license and compulsory insurance and might therefore only be usable on privat property.
Yes, we deliver UNI Bikes to anywhere in the world. In Europe, you have to use the 250W / 25km/h version in order to have a road legal bicycle/pedelec. The stronger 500W (750W peak) versions need to be registered for insurance to be legal as light electric motorbike! Otherwise, it is only allowed on private property!
If you only use your UNI Bike on private property you can purchase the 500W (750W peak) version without speed limitation.

The range depends very much on vehicle type/weight, terrain condition, payload, tire pressure & type, wind, road condition plus other factors and can vary greatly.
Especially in wintertime when outside temperatures are low, the capacity/range of the battery can be noticeably affected, but this is normal for lithium-ion batteries and returns to normal as temperatures rise.
Likewise, riding style plays a decisive role in the possible range. Anticipatory driving to avoid unnecessary braking actions and to minimize start & stop maneuvers (e.g. in city traffic) or "smart" driving allow a higher range – varying the pedal assist level (e.g. when going downhill), extensive use of the mechanical gear shift to relieve the load on the electric drive train and other actions have a decisive influence on the range.
Our range figures are based on ideal conditions, i.e. low payload, low assistance level, no start & stop traffic, level, asphalt surface, adequate tire pressure to minimize rolling friction, outside temperature of 24°C, adequate addition of muscle power, no thumb throttle, max. speed of 25km/h.
The range record with the 20.4Ah battery is 155km!
The charging time varies depending on remaining charge, battery size, capacity and temperature between 4 and 8 hours, possibly longer when first charging new bike batteries.
In principle, the battery charging time can be calculated as follows (completely empty battery or one full charging cycle). Keep in mind that your battery never is fully empty though, therefore the charging time may be shorter than previously calculated:

Of course! If you run out of power, you're able to ride your bike like a regular bicycle. An electric bike will always bring you back home safely, even without pedal assistance. The bike's mechanical bicycle gearing, enormously simplifies riding without electrical support.
Yes, it can. Merely push the key into unlock position and remove it, flip up the seat and pull the battery out. This allows you to take the battery inside for recharging at home or work. We recommend always to keep your battery in average temperature surroundings to prevent any affection by low temperatures!
Generally spoken, our batteries have a lifetime of 800-1000 charging cycles (full recharges & discharges) until they're at 80% of the original capacity, if used correctly and when regularly recharged. Lithium-Ion batteries are sensitive to low temperatures which affect their capacity and therefore the possible overall range. We recommend to always take and store your battery inside at moderate temperatures (20°C), especially during wintertime and cold temperatures! We're also offering a neoprene cover to insulate your battery while riding.
Unlike many other electric bikes with integral or specialized battery and electrical components, the UNI Bikes use a ubiquitous and reliable mass produced battery, motor and controller system that is available in most e-bike stores or online. The same goes for technical components, as we use prevalent brand parts and systems.

UNI MK Classic and SWING are a real utility electric bikes made for fun, family and work! The rear end of the bike is adaptable to your needs and can be swapped within a couple of minutes only. You'd like to pick up a friend? No big deal, get the rear seat extension rack. You have to go grocery shopping and don't know where to place your goods? No problem, mount a rear or front cargo rack and off you go.
Yes.It is permitted to carry one additional person on a bicycle, provided that the vehicle offers a seating option intended for this purpose, i.e. is built and equipped for the transport of two persons.

The frame and the seat of the UNI MK are specially calculated and designed for two-seater operation. The maximum load is 145kg and of course there are restrictions in operation (hill performance, speed, braking distance, wear).
Riding with kids always is a question of responsibility and safety. We're recommending to ride carefully at all time in order to keep the chances of risks as low as possible and to ensure the safety of you and your passengers!
We have to note that this riding configuration might not be legal in some countries and we ask you to check with your local authorities!
No, we do not work together with bicycle shops or dealerships for many reasons. This way we'll keep Urban Drivestyle exclusive. This also allows us to be the only contact person for any concerns, ensuring that there are no communication barriers or other problems due to the participation of another party.
That is the reason we only sell our products online or from our headquarter in Berlin or selected locations.

UD electric bicycles are designed to fit it all! Like on a moped, the seating position is variable due to the long saddle while the steering bar is intended to be adjustable in height and position.
The UNI MK is built strong and can handle loads up to 150kg+ with ease, although the official max. payload is 135kg. We recommend to avoid hilly terrain and limit driving speed to max. 20km/h (12,4mph) when riding with children or a second person.
UD electric bikes come almost ready to ride in one well-packed box (171,5 cm x 71 cm x 110cm with 35kg). Finalizing your bike to get it running requires minimal assembly and consists basically in adjusting the steering bar, the pedalset and the kickstand. Additional accessories will either be mounted or included in the scale of shipping separately. They can be mounted using our manuals or Youtube tutorials.
As we're a Germany-based Company, we'll deliver our bikes with European standard type F plugs/sockets. The Charger is compatible with all global standardized power sockets and fitting adapters.
Yes absolutely! If you ordered your UNI MK in advance, you could always arrange a pickup date with us to take home your bike personally as soon as it's ready.
Purchasing within Europe will include taxes and duties. If you provide an international VAT number we can send you a VAT excluded quote.
If you order a UNI Bike outside of Europe, import taxes and VAT may apply.

All bikes are digitally restricted to 25km/h in Europe and 20mph in the United States even though their components would allow higher overall speed.
Tuning parts like the new freehub with freewheel which enhance the riding performance are available in our shop and entirely legal.
Either way, tuning an electric bike may lead to losing road legality in some countries depending on national e-bike laws. We strictly do not recommend making any technical modifications on any electronic parts of the bike to ensure your safety while riding and the safety of other traffic participants. We are also not taking over any responsibility in such cases, and any warranty will immediately be suspended!
Tuning an e-bike may be a criminal offense in some countries as maximum power output and speed will exceed the permitted values!
